Our Mission

i2i Football Academy gives young players across Yorkshire access to first-class football training, which is usually only available at professional clubs.

All of our coaches are experienced and highly qualified. They guarantee to encourage, motivate and challenge every player – with the aim of improving every single individual.

We cater for elite players in our Football Academy sessions, which run during school term time.

Players in our York-based Academy train between 1 and 10 hours a week and compete in regular development friendlies.

Many of these friendlies are against youth teams from local professional clubs such as Leeds United, Sheffield United, Doncaster Rovers and York City to name a few – giving each of our players a unique insight into the UK’s football system.

The i2i Football Academy does not affect or encroach on players playing or training with their own club teams. We are purely a football development programme.

We also run courses in school holidays in York and these camps are available for players of all abilities.

FYI: Players attending the academy are required to play for a grassroots team and train on a weekly basis. New players wanting to join the academy will be able to come along to a trial session where our coaches will assess their ability for the academy.

Player Pathway

One of the unique features of the i2i Football Academy is the variety of pathways we are able to offer our players.

Throughout this journey, Academy players can take advantage of our partnership with York St John University where academic study runs alongside a full-time Football Development programme – enabling students to train 2-5 days a week in a professional environment.

We are able to assist players with finding football teams including professional and semi-professional clubs.
